Dates & Data for the ‘Festes de Gracia’ 2023

The Gràcia Festival 2023 will take place from August 15th to August 21st, 2023, as traditionally scheduled. This information has been officially provided by the Barcelona City Council.

  • The Gràcia 2023 Festival maintains 23 decorated spaces:
  • Neighborhood commissions resist despite the ravages of the pandemic.
  • Mozart and Verdi streets, the first streets to receive a commemorative plaque for more than 100 years of festive history.
  • There are five axes: feminisms and against gender stereotypes, LGTBIQ+ visibility, inclusion of all audiences, anti-racist and sustainable.
  • The Fundación Fiesta Mayor de Gràcia is committed to reducing the impact of the festival on the environment: reusable glasses, organic and unwrapped t-shirts and an increase from 5 to 12 commissions that will recycle 100% of their decorations once the festival is over.

La Plaça del Folk 2023: concerts a la plaça del Sol

The CAT Tradicionàrius programs within the Festa Major de Gràcia, the Plaça del Folk, a reference space within the extensive Festivals programme. This year, the 19th edition with a program of activities around traditional roots music that will take place in Plaça del Sol from August 15 to 21, 2023.

Garnished Street Competition in Gràcia

As usual, the Gràcia Festival will feature the decorated street contest, where various streets and squares compete to win the coveted title of the best decorated street.

In 2022, Verdi Street emerged victorious in the street contest of the Gràcia Festival. With its ‘Quixot’ decoration, Verdi Street scored 298.5 points, surpassing Tordera Street with the installation ‘Passeig de la Xina’ (291.5 points) and Progrés Street with its ‘Progrés Park’ (282 points).

Festival Poster Gracia 2023

The Festival Poster for Gràcia 2023 has been designed by the talented illustrator, Gina Pont. Unveiled on March 28th, the captivating image features various elements of the festival. It showcases the hands and tools of dedicated volunteers crafting the decorations, alongside iconic symbols of Catalan culture, such as the handkerchiefs of the human tower builders (“castellers”) and the expressive faces of Torradet and Gresca, the festival’s giant figures.

Do I Need Tickets?

Gràcia Festival is a free fiesta celebrated on the streets of the barrio. It is entirely open to the public, so no tickets are required to attend.
